We love this from "class to glass" bag by Lulu Lemon. It's the perfect bag to go straight from a yoga session, to meeting the girls for a cheeky vino! The shape and neon detail make it feel really on trend without comprising the size--making it perfect to throw in your sneakers, a change of tee and all other necessities. Um so yeh, basically we are two clicks away from purchasing this right this instant.
Granola is the perfect breakfast or even just a mid day snack, but I'm so wary of buying ready made, store brought ones. Mainly because I worry that whilst I think I'm being super healthy, I'm actually consuming a truck load of salt and sugar and probably yucky preservatives (I mean if I'm gonna eat all that crap it might as well be in a Snickers bar), and I thought how hard can it be to make your own?! Not hard at all! This took like 4 minutes to make and then 25minutes in the oven - and the smell in my house made me want to rename myself Martha.
Now I'd be totally lying if I said I used exact measurements of the ingredients below. I knew I wanted to make enough to last a while (as in the jar it should last at least a month) so I just used used enough oats accordingly.
Preheat the oven at 250C and line a tray with foil.
This is super duper simple. I mixed the first 5 listed in a big bowl, adding more or less of each due to preference, for example, I'm not crazy about raisins so I only added a small amount. Then you heat two teaspoons of coconut oil in the microwave, add a little water and pour into the mixture. I then added 2-3 tablespoons of agave nectar. I didn't want my granola to be too sweet but you need to add enough in order to make the oats stick. Sprinkle a pinch (or more if you like) of cinnamon before pouring the entire mixture onto the baking tray and pop in the oven for 15 mintes.
Take the tray out to turn the oats over periodically, adding a few cacao nibs in the final stages. Cook until the granola is a dry and golden brown colour all over. Leave to cool for 10 minutes and the serve.
As you can see I have stored mine in an empty jam jar, this is not only a great way to preserve food but also looks really pretty in the kitchen.
GGS provide the perfect sweet treat without all the guilt of the usual stuff! The products are meat, gluten, fat, soy, nut and dairy free, but they taste so good! We have sampled every flavour and think that the small packet sizes make them the perfect handbag treat for when those cravings kick in.
Favourite flavour -- but beware these Koala's are sour.
So we thought, why not give three of you the chance to taste and enjoy every flavour too. Sweets are for sharing, right?!
So all you have to do is hop over to Twitter, follow us on SeamlessStyling and follow GGS on, Goody Good Stuff and tweet us, " I want to eat Good Stuff all day with @seamlessstyling and @goodygoodstuff"
Winners will be picked at random and the competition closes on Tuesday 19th March
The Internet, or for
the purpose of this piece, instagram is a wonderful thing! There are many delights that the
picture editing and sharing network has to offer: beauty, humour, inspiration,
motivation and of course, Nikki Sharp. We at Seamless Styling came across the model
turned nutrition guru’s page some weeks ago and we have been hooked ever since.
It would seem a further 23,000 people around the world would agree! Nikki
has hundreds of comments and emails every single day thanking her for being a
constant source of inspiration and motivation.
The beautiful Sharp
who’s positive mantra is ‘Live, Laugh, Love, Eat, Repeat’believes in eating
whole and clean foods to maintain not only a great figure but also a happy
soul, great skin and a healthy body.
Having worked as a model for some time, Nikki has battled with her fair
share of body image issues and dabbled in ridiculous diets (lasting a few hours
on the lemonade cleanse…which is far longer than we did at Seamless) but now she
doesn’t believe in counting calories and instead works out regularly (short
30min work-outs 5 days a week) and prepares all her meals for the week ahead,
“it isn’t glamorous, or easy! I’m not on any kind of diet, This is a lifestyle.
I wear a very uncool backpack everyday
to work with my gym kit and packed lunches.”
When looking on Nikki’s
instagram its clear to see that ‘clean’ eating work’s for her (have you seen
this lady's abs?) but one step further from that, she is dead set on helping
and educating other people. We at Seamless have had the pleasure of doing her
sought after detox, and it seriously works. Nikki knows what she’s talking
about and has jam-packed this 18 page program with nutritional information,
recipes and most importantly love.
I spoke with Nikki for
just over an hour, taking notes for the interview (and a few sneaky tips for
myself) and it’s hard not to realise how excited and passionate she is about health and nutrition. I caught her right after a grueling gym session (of
course she still looked radiant) but she had bundles of energy and spoke a
billion miles an hour whenever we discussed her ever growing business and all
its exciting prospects.
After dabbling in a ton of eating habits, my by far favourtie has to be clean eating. In basic terms this is simply eating whole foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. I am also working towards a vegan lifestyle (a scary prospect but always bloody worth it!) Now this is by no means a diet or any sort of quick fix but instead, a change of lifestyle that will undoubtedly benefit every aspect of your health and well being. Once equipped with all the correct foods this eating plan can be easy and really fun!
So above is the amazing green smoothie, I have this around 3 times a week for breakfast, sometimes adding kale, blueberries and recently always adding a spoonful of flaxseed and cinnamon. It's a great drink because there are basically no rules, throw in as much or as little as you like of any ingredient. The tub with the white lid is wheatgrass... absolutely vile taken as a shot by itself. But in this smoothie I swear I cant even taste it. I know it looks like a cup of sewage but honestly it's actually really really delicious and you'd never know it was jam-packed with vegetables and super foods. I urge you to try it before you knock it.
Today I had a really great day eating cleanly! After doing a huge fruit and vegetable shop yesterday I was really looking forward to experimenting and building on recipes I had already tried. Both the salad and the smoothie have a gizzilion different things in them which makes for a really filling meal and also means you wont get bored of any one taste.
I honestly used to think people were talking absolute lies about being full from salads or having a bowl of fruit to beat sugar cravings...but I may have joined the dark side because after having the smoothie at around 11am and the salad at 1pm I was absolutely stuffed. Not the same sort of stuffed from say a burger, chips and fizzy drink (that's the need to sleep for 4 hours, can't move kind of stuffed!) I was more full to the brim but could go for a jog and not feel sick if I so please...That said, I didn't so please on this occasion and instead procrastinated on a gossip website for some 40minutes....
Our favourite way to start the morning is with our own take on a classic recipe from our childhood, Swiss muesli.
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 oats, granola, sunflower seeds, barley (make a mix of your favourites)
1 tablespoon dried coconut flakes
1/4 apple (honeycrisp is our favourite type) grated
A drizzle of honey (optional)
